Lincoln kicks off the 34th annual Arkansas Apple Festival on the town square Friday morning, Oct. 2 when the arts and crafts vendors open at 9 a.m.
This year’s festival schedule is as follows:
Friday, Oct. 2 –Arts and crafts fair, 9 a.m.; music of the Lincoln sixth-grade choir, 1 p.m.; dulcimer music, 2:30 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 3 — Arts and crafts fair, 9 a.m.; parade, 10 a.m.; special entertainment, 11 a.m.; square dancing, noon; country/bluegrass music, 2 to 4 p.m.; talent contest, 5 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 4 — Arts and crafts fair, noon; gospel singing, 2 p.m.; apple core throwing, 3 p.m.

The Miss Apple Harvest Queen Pageant and the Miss Apple Blossom Pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lincoln High School auditorium.
The Arkansas Apple Festival will get underway on the Lincoln Square the following weekend, Oct. 2, 3 and 4.

The Cane Hill Harvest Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 19 & 20 at the Cane Hill College, located in the historic town of Cane Hill, just off scenic Hwy. 45, eight miles from Hwy. 62.
Youth Talent Show Saturday!
There’s still time to enter the Youth Talent Show! There will be trophies and cash prizes awarded to the winners. The competition is open to contestants 18 years old and younger. To sign up or to find out more information, contact Scott F. Davis at 479-824-5316 or e-mail scottfdavis@pgtc.com.
The museum will be open both days. There will be kid’s activities, a quilt show, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. each morning.
See sorghum made the old-fashioned way. They will also be making apple butter and lye soap.
